Cameroonian singer NC Brown releases the audio to his new single titled MAMA. MAMA is an Afro/folkloric vibe that embraces the African culture and it talks about the relationship between mothers and children. In the Awing culture, we believe that an elderly persons cane, is his child when he or she becomes old.
It’s a song dedicated to all the mothers; thanking them for their efforts and struggles for their children. Mama is a plea to the African mother, demanding her to stand up and dance thereby forgetting all her troubles. It talks about the pride of a child to a mother especially when she grows grey and has children ready to fetch her firewood, water and supply her needs. The line “mban nilen leu muneu” in the third verse of the song is often used in his culture when ever a baby is born, or merely as a lullaby for kids.
